This middle panel of this plot shows the fit (red curve) to the observed pulseshape (black curve) for the star G29-38; this fit is achieved by varying the convective parameters, the amplitude and phase of the mode, and the inclination angle. In the upper panel, we see that the derived thermal response timescale of the convection zone (red curve) is very similar to that which one calculates from standard mixing-length theory (black curve).
